Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge
A crispy cold morning hiking this wildlife preserve operated by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service on the Nisqually River Delta. This is a great place for bird-watching and a really stellar view of Mt. Rainier, too. This Blue Heron just stood in place as I got closer for the shot. About 5 miles R/T, pay a $3 entrance fee or buy a year-long pass for $12.
