Northern State Ghost Town
Northern State Hospital was once the largest facility for mentally ill people in Washington State, but with 5 miles of easy hiking, you're really walking through an old ghost town. The town had patient/staff housing, lumber mill, steam plant, greenhouse, 700-acre farm and even a cemetery, to name a few. Today, you'll not only see the remnants of the facilities, but you can even play a mean game of frisbee golf. Just watch out for bears!
